The problem of runaway and separated children is a large one. However, there are simple and cost-effective solutions that can easily be replicated and thousands of children can be saved from slipping into street life.

On an average, it costs about Rs. 3500/- to help one child – which includes rescue from railway platform, shelter care and efforts to counsel and restore the child.

We also seek funds towards follow-up and education support for restored and needy children, advocacy and networking efforts, studies and knowledge building efforts, development of communication resources such as videos and general administrative expenses.

Contribute to our efforts of rescuing children by sending us a cheque, draft or making an online funds transfer. Your contribution is eligible for exemption from Income Tax (upto 50%) under Section 80G of Income Tax Act 1961.

We welcome students and researchers with an interest to conduct short studies / projects. The short projects or studies usually comprise developing case-studies, data analysis, supporting the field counselors and/or information gathering exercises.

Being a field-oriented organization, SATHI offers a rich exposure to ground realities on the issue of children and an opportunity to work on live cases under the guidance of senior team members.

Background in social sciences / humanities / social work / psychology can be an advantage, but passion to work on children’s issues and willingness to learn are the primary criteria.  A minimum of 3 continuous weeks of availability is a mandatory requirement to have a fruitful internship experience.

Please write to us at least 2 weeks prior to the dates of your proposed internship

SATHI also welcomes committed individuals who can volunteer their time on a part-time basis for engaging with children, helping with documentation and case-studies, helping our staff with skills such as spoken English, ICT use, etc.

We also constantly look out for motivational trainers to build capacities of our staff in leadership and management aspects.
